The Touch-Lives Initiative is a social entreprenuerial initiative aimed at reaching out to the less addressed segments of the society with technology-driven simple solutions.
Only capital this initiative would start with is the intellectual capital strengthened by a passion to be able to touch lives of the underprivileged. Goodwill and satisfaction are the only forms in which RoI shall be computed by Touch-Lives Initiative.
Any like minded person is welcome to join and contribute in terms of time and energy.
For the basic infrastructure etc. this initiative would draw from the resources provided by the Touch Lives Technologies (http://www.touch-lives.com/).
The Ideas-Crucible
Research being carried out by the consenting research groups involving faculty researchers and student researchers at BITS Pilani will work as the first seed to the outreach projects floated by the Touch-Lives-Initiative.
However, the project is open for contributions of all like-minded scholars and volunteers around the world. If interested, simply send across an Email or fill-in an online form at the Contacts page. We would get back to you shortly thereafter.

We realize that the diagnosis of mental disorders especially those associated with autism in children, at an early stage, preferably before school going age, is vital to ensuring a complete and happy life ahead for the child. Hence, the vision for Project Communicate is two-fold in nature viz.
i. Early detection of cognitive abnormalities in children and their possible correlation to autism symptoms in children. (Pre-detection phase)
ii. Design of assistive ubiquitous computing solutions (wearable or otherwise) to empower the autistic children and/or their caregivers to boost social interactions and facilitate effective communication. (Post-detection phase)
This project is in its early stage taking shape as a mini-project for the graduate-level course: Pervasive Computing at BITS, Pilani. Idea for this project came from two graduate students: Prasanta Bhattacharya and Ruchir Hajela who along with a Computer Science Professor tried to give a concrete shape to it.
